MIVA VAN KULO x BUSINESS
MIVA VAN KULO wants you to slow down and pause for a minute: Take a look at your old clothes and go treasure hunting à la objet trouvé!
Fashion has become a one way road, from the designer’s idea, over the production process, the selling point, to buying it and wearing it, once or for years. Often we lose the value of our clothes. The life cycle of our garments gets shorter and fashion today has transformed into a disposable item. But Sometimes we fall in love with a special piece, either at first sight or over time, it’s linked with memories and emotions that you might or might not want to keep.
MIVA VAN KULO creates collections of items that long existed, that went their way and found themselves in a lost place. We don’t see items at the end of the road as worthless. In the spirit of the 80s we want to celebrate individuality instead of reproducing conformity.
Through deconstruction and reconstruction we instill new sense into a contemporary context. Working with given clothes that we collected thoroughly, MIVA VAN KULO creates new shapes through restyling and new combinations, pieces that do not take themselves too seriously. We exchange, we turn everything upside down and we rise. Using the body as our tool we infuse new energy and give new meaning to every piece.
Our goal is to bring fashion back into a circle of using and reusing, to design new beginnings instead of ending things. We will make NEW memories from now on.
